Welcome to My Chaos
Buckle up, butter cup. We're taking a deep dive in random ADHD and mental health life stuff.
I’ve been posting about my ADHD and mental health struggles, tips, and resources for a while on my Instagram and Facebook and had a few folks ask if I had a blog. To which I said, “A blog? I can’t commit to a blog.”
And yet, here we are.
Because that’s how ADHD works: What’s this? A new idea? Now I must think about it! Now I must do it! I will not rest until I’ve watched at least 10 YouTube tutorials and become an expert and published at least 2 different substacks. LOLOLOLOLOL…wait, I’m not joking.
Oh right, I guess I should introduce myself. I’m Andria. I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety disorder after a romp through 3 years of post-partum depression. Once that was being treated, I realized that something else was up. Enter my daughter’s ADHD diagnosis.
While researching extensively what this was that my daughter was diagnosed with (yes, now I can call that hyperfocus), things started to look awfully familiar. Lo and behold, I also have ADHD, which makes sense because so does my dad. These things tend to run in families in case you weren’t aware. Looking back, most of my struggles as a kid, teen, and adult stem from untreated ADHD. Yippee!
So now I’m a mom of two who works freelance in writing and editing and remembers to take my meds most days. And still struggles. Because life in a society that wasn’t built by brains like yours…uh…sucks.
So if you’re up for the ride, I’ll be posting randomly because consistency is hard.
If anything, my plan for this space is to organize my own thoughts surrounding how my brain works, for better or worse. You’re welcome to slide me any questions or topics you’re curious about for future posts.
Cheers! Oh, and go drink water. I’m guessing you forgot to drink water today like me. So yeah. Go do that
